AGA is now recruiting volunteers to have their gut analyzed. Submit your name by Dec. 7 to be considered.

The AGA Center for Gut Microbiome Research and Education, in collaboration with the American Gut Project, has opened a call for volunteers for a very unique learning opportunity.

Interested in volunteering? We are recruiting members in the following categories:

  • 100 AGA trainee members in the U.S. to receive a home sampling kit at no cost (first come, first served).
  • 400 members in all other categories who reside in the U.S. A home sampling kit will be sent to you for a fee of $75.

The samples will be analyzed by the American Gut Project and a customized analysis will be provided to you (view an example). Interesting trends in the volunteers’ de-identified results will be presented at a special Digestive Disease Week® (DDW) 2016 session, Active Learning Session on the Gut Microbiome: Fundamental Principles in Theory and Practice, where attendees will learn more about the gut microbiota, how it is studied and what it means for human health.

Participate in this one-of-a-kind opportunity and help advance the science and practice of gastroenterology. The deadline to volunteer is Dec. 7, 2015.
