CMS to start sending letters alerting you to your qualification status.

In the 2017 transition year for MACRA, clinicians should participate in the Merit-Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) if they:

  • Bill more than $30,000 in Medicare Part B allowed charges a year, and
  • Provide care for more than 100 Part B-enrolled Medicare beneficiaries a year.

CMS is reviewing claims and letting practices know which clinicians need to take part in MIPS. From late April through May, you will get a letter from your Medicare Administrative Contractor that processes Medicare Part B claims, providing the participation status of each MIPS clinician associated with your Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN).

If you qualify, AGA offers tools that can help you plan for implementation and thrive under MACRA. Learn more
