CMS has proposed values for new moderate sedation codes, which will impact the way GIs are reimbursed. Read AGA’s analysis on this proposal.

Beginning Jan. 1, 2017, CMS has proposed to change the way it pays for moderate sedation. The changes, outlined in the 2017 Physician Fee Schedule proposed rule, will impact all providers who perform esophageal dilation and endoscopic procedures, regardless of whether moderate sedation with benzodiazepines and opiates, or anesthesia with propofol, is used.

Learn why it’s happening and the impact it will have on you by reading this analysis that AGA has compiled (pdf).

Even though the proposal won’t be finalized until November 2016, there are things you could be doing right now to ensure that there will be no disruption in claims and revenue. AGA is here to show you how.
