Practice and Quality

The AGA Practice and Quality Department develops tools and resources to help GIs understand and prepare for changes in reimbursement and health-care delivery, while maintaining a high-quality practice.

Expertise and Opportunities

Clinical Guidelines

Evidence-based clinical guidelines, algorithms, clinical decision support tools and patient education based on rigorous systematic reviews of the medical literature utilizing GRADE.

Clinical Practice Updates (CPUs)

CPUs convey AGA’s opinion on the latest updates/changes in clinical practice and/or technologies based upon the current state-of-the-art and include a combination of evidence-based information and best consensus opinion.

Practice Management

As reimbursement shifts from fee-for-service to value-based, physicians must focus on the quality, rather than the quantity, of services provided. AGA offers tools and services to help practices thrive in the new accountable-care environment.

AGA has been a leader in developing quality measures to demonstrate how gastroenterologists can enhance their value via improved outcomes and increased efficiency and cost-effective care.
