Read about the gut microbiome, pursuing a career in academic medicine and the basics of coding in the fall issue.

The fall issue of The New Gastroenterologist, written for trainees and early career GIs, is live online in an interactive PDF. The issue centers on the topic of fecal microbiota transplantation and the microbiome, a major focus of gastroenterology and other medical research in recent years.

The authors of the article, Olga Aroniadis, MD, and Lawrence Brandt, MD, AGAF, delve into the use of FMT for clostridium difficile infection. Additional articles focus on the basics of coding, the AGA-AASLD Academic Skills Workshops — from both the fellow and faculty perspectives  and an overview of going into academic medicine.
